The steps are almost the same steps you use every time you use the winch, except when installing a new cable you must pull out the retaining bolt to remove the old cable and attach the new one.

You can choose standard steel winch rope or cable, or opt for a hybrid nylon winch rope. The steps are the same either way. Remove the old cable from your winch. Put the clutch in the freewheel setting, and pull the cable off the drum. Remove the retaining bolt, using a socket and ratchet, and discard the old cable.

Insert the new cable through the fairlead on the front of the winch. The cable must be attached so that it feeds off the bottom of the drum when being spooled out. Insert the cable retaining bolt through the eyelet or loop on the end of the winch cable.

Some cables may not have the eyelet, so be sure to get a cable that is designed to work with your winch. Apply a few drops of thread locking compound on the threads of the bolt; then thread it into the hole on the drum, and tighten it with a socket and ratchet.

When tightening it, make sure it is secure. But it does not need to be torqued, because the cable will not be pulling on the screw when under load. String the cable out in a long, straight line and attach it to a tree or other solid object.

Slowly winch in on the line with your truck in neutral. Maintain just enough weight on the line to keep it tight as you spool in.

Wind the line onto the drum in tight, close loops. Keep them as close together as you can without allowing the cable to overlap itself, until the first layer of the drum is completely covered. Continue spooling in on the winch, building new layers on top of the previous layer until most of the line is on the drum.

Unhook the cable from the tree and spool in the remaining cable.Quick Links Download this manual. Northeast 2 Stage Snowblower 44'' with Electric Lift. Table of Contents. Snow Blower Bercomac Berco Owner's Manual Compact two stage 40" snowblower for lawn and yard tractors 44 pages.

A 12volt wire winch could be used to lift a Riest Single stage snow blower in the same manner and considerably reduce the cost of a front mount Reist single stage installation on a 4 wheel drive mule with a Mid Mount or rear PTO set up with a longer propeller shaft and cost even less with an engine mounted on the Riest Series single stage snow thrower with a wider width of cut being 54 to 72 inches wide using a 13 inch snow blower rotor.

The winch would not care what the weight is as long as a proper pulley set up is used with one or two pulleys to guide the winch cable to a central mounting eye or chain connection. A V twin engine mounted in a center mounting frame would easily power the RPM gearbox with a chain or Belt drive that was protected with a steel cover that was hinged to aid in inspecting and lubricating the roller chain and chain drive in front of the engine.

I have the Mahindra blower, but it's a Bercomac. Mine uses hydraulic, but the snowblower frame has a bar that goes back to the rear of my tractor and connects to where my draw bar would go in. Maybe what they are referring to is that you don't need that bar and it pivots off of the PTO shaft?

You know, you can email or call them. They actually have folks that speak english, even if it might have a french accent. I have emailed them and gotten answers from them in the past, too. Good company, good blowers I have a Bercomac 6' blade and a 78" Bercomac blower.

Both have hyd cyl's in the front for lift. Mine are run off the FEL hyd outlets, but could just as easily be run off the rear hyd outlet, if you have one I think the 'PTO lift thing' is a misprint. Erskine also makes a fine blower that is driven by your rear PTO with a hyd lift. They recently redesigned them a couple winters ago. Last edited by JerryK; at AM. This is very similar to the front mount Kubota mechanism, which I have, and I can tell you how that works.

105136 } LIMIT SWITCH

I don't think their literature is intentionally misleading, might be translated? In any case that hitch does act as a pass-through for the mid-PTO. My guess is thats what they are referring to.

On the Kubota, the loader valves are hooked up. Forward and backward on the loader valve handle will raise and lower the blower off the ground like a plow blade. With the hydraulic chute controls that costs extra then left and right on the loader valve handle will rotate the chute. Changing the deflector angle is handled with third function switch, which is right on the loader valve handle and its implemented with a diverter that is mounted on the blower itself.

The switch of course is electric and there is a solenoid for the diverter. Now of course all that is for Kubota but from what I can tell in the pictures this seems to work the same exact way. But like JerryK says, you can call or email and ask I am sure they will share the info. No, it is not necessary to have this installed by a professional. An owner's manual is supplied showing you the installation process step by step. The subframe is the required part enabling you to attach the accessory to the tractor.

It is specifically engineered to fit onto the series and brand of the tractor because tractor frames may vary. This portion transfers the power of the tractor to the snowblower or the broom to activate them not required on snow or utility blades. If the mower deck of your tractor is activated by a belt, the snowblower or broom will also be activated by a belt that is included in the drive mechanism. On specific tractor models, it is a drive shaft that activates the mower. You must fasten the tractor's drive shaft onto the one that is included with the drive mechanism.

In most cases yes, according to the model of your tractor. No need to purchase additional parts, only the accessory itself adaptor needed for Rotary broom. This is all possible with the quick attach system included with the Berco subframe. Yes, we have different types of lift mechanisms. This is included with our subframe which comes in 3 different versions and depends on the year, brand and series of the tractor.

How to Install a Winch Cable

On certain tractor models, you may have more than one choice. To confirm which type of lift mechanism is offered, simply mention the brand, the year and the series of your tractor to your dealer. This line of accessories is lifted by using a lift arm or lever located directly to the right of the driver. With our over center lock mechanism, it takes surprisingly little effort to lift the accessory. Simply innovative This system is activated by an electric winch included with the subframe.

The winch remains on the tractor permanently, so just bolt on the subframe once with the winch and leave it on the tractor. Just amazing! This not only simplifies lifting the accessory but it simplifies the installation. It might be possible to install the accessory, depending on the year, the brand and model of the new tractor. Please contact a dealer for more information.

The snowblower requires just 6 HP. Uses chains with straps or brackets brackets stay on permanently to attach to the front axles. When chains are tightened using the turnbuckles they act as an anti-sway system. The snowblower is supported by 2 caster wheels so there is no added weight onto the vehicle.

You also have an emergency shut down to stop the snowblower and the motor on the snowblower. An extendible subframe does the full length of the vehicle to hook onto the rear ball hitch. The lifting is done with the vehicle's winch winch and rear ball hitch are not included with accessory. You also have an emergency shut down, turning off the snowblower and the motor of the snowblower.
